Winter is just around the corner and  the air is turning more and more  dry and chilly with every passing day, making your skin parched, flaky, and whitish.
But, worry you not!  We'd like to put an end to the notion of dull, lackluster winter skin.  A regular skin care regimen would hardly help in winter. Your face needs more than just pampering to look healthy and glowing. GlamGals have all the skin-saving tips and products you'll need for a party make up. Ready to go for it? Here you are.

Moisturize
Dry skin makes makeup application a struggle. Prep your skin with your favorite moisturizer. Regular use of a moisturizer is one of the best things you can do to combat dryness.

Darken your foundation
You want to start with a deeper, all-over base face so that your skin looks like it’s naturally radiating. Use a hydrating foundation when preparing for some occasions. Try Glam Gal's Stick Foundation. Good foundations keeps the skin well moisturized, beside putting a silky base on the face, and act as an occlusive barrier to protect the skin.

Stain your lips with a matching bright color
Get gorgeous with those desirable fuller lips. You can select from both Matte series or the Glossy series from the Glam Gals '5 color lipstick palette' or the collection of 'Creme Matte Lipsticks' that complements your mood and the slightly darker winter wardrobe.

Add glamour with the right blusher
Use of blusher will give you the X factor. But  instead of a bright blush (which can make you look as if you have windburn), switch to a dusty pink in a creamy formulation; it will help offset too-red cheeks and dryness. Think cream type for normal to dry skin, and powder type for normal to oily skin. Because, like a moisturizer, velvety formulas will absorb into the skin better and provide extra hydration. Powder varieties on the other hand help mop up excess oil and sweat sitting on the skin.

Use moisturizing makeup
Hydrating cream and liquid textures of foundation, blush and even eye shadow are recommended in winter. Give your skin a much-needed drink in the winter time( another advantage is that they can all be applied beautifully with your fingertips!).  Powder formulas, on the other hand, can look too cakey and be difficult to blend over dry winter skin.

Create a Matte Complexion
In winter, skin should look more matte. You can try a weightless mousse foundation, especially for  oily skins,  to that dries to a semi-matte finish, yet remains transparent and moisturizing. And you don't need powder to set it. If you like a dewier finish, go with a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer.
For natural, barely-there coverage, apply Stick Foundation to the center of the face first. Target areas that need the most evening out (usually around the nose), then skim a tiny amount of foundation outward over the rest of the face and neck.

Pick the right shimmer for winter.
Tanned, glimmering skin is no longer in season, so put bronzer and luminizing face shimmer into hibernation. The same goes for warmer, sunny tones of eye shadow and blush. A golden glow looks a little ridiculous in the dead of winter. Instead, opt for fresh, matte skin sans shimmer and shine on the cheeks or lips.

Smooth a Soft Color on Cheeks
Since cold weather tends to bring a natural flush (or just plain redness) to the face, it's wise to steer clear of bright blush. The vivid shades of summer can take a backseat,  instead switch to a dusty rose or a muted apricot blush in a creamy formulation that blends into the skin. Lightly pat soft, velvety and smooth textured Touch Blusher color on the apples of the cheeks with the pads of your fingers, then gently work it up the cheekbones.

Make your lips the Focus
With soft, subtle makeup on eyes and cheeks, the lips are the focal point of color. Invest in a beautiful Creme Matte Lipstick from GlamGals, in winter a richer tone is right. Ditch the candy colors for a rich, natural plum tone. To create a stained effect, use an emollient lipstick that won't be too shiny or overly retro-matte.
Good Makeup is a matter applying common sense, observing others and product knowledge. The more you try the higher will be your perfection level. Experimentation with new ideas will certainly help you becoming a pro in this.
